Anthony Boden, historian, gave an extremely well received talk at Highnam Church  on Tuesday 10th August to accompany the St Cecilia Singers, conducted by Ashley Grote, in their rendition of Parry's Songs of Farewell.

We have been asked by one of the audience to make this extremely interesting lecture available to everyone, and it is with great pleasure that we acknowledge the research undertaken by Tony in preparing this fascinating insight into not only Sir Hubert's life but the history of the church and the Fenton/Parry family seat.

The Three Choirs Festival and the Philharmonia Orchestra have cemented their long-established relationship with the announcement of a three year partnership, which will see them working together to realise the Festival’s artistic vision and ambitions as well as to develop a comprehensive new programme of education and audience development activity.

At the heart of the partnership will be the formalisation of the Philharmonia Orchestra’s status as Orchestra in Residence at Three Choirs Festival in 2012 (Hereford), 2013 (Gloucester) and 2014 (Worcester). Each year the Orchestra will perform 7 concerts, both choral events accompanying the Three Choirs Festival Chorus and orchestral concerts featuring leading guest conductors and soloists.
