Passing the Baton: Three Choirs Way Fundraising Walk
Love of music and walking in beautiful countryside have always gone hand in hand, especially for famous local composer and Three Choirs favourite Edward Elgar. This year, the Three Choirs Festival has 'passed the baton' between our festival cities of Worcester and Hereford by walking the baton along the 30-mile Three Choirs Way to hand over to Artistic Director Geraint Bowen at Hereford Cathedral, ready for this summer's festival.
Bruce Herriot, Chair of the Hereford Three Choirs Festival, led the walk, with the aim of raising £1,000 to go towards the Chairman’s Circle. The money will be used to support the evening concert on Friday 29 July, Transformations, including Finzi’s Dies natalis and Poulenc’s Stabat Mater.
