About Amadeus Orchestra | Handel - Messiah

St Mary’s church in Wotton-under-Edge is famous for its organ that was once played by George Frederick Handel when it was in its original setting of St Martin in the Fields, on Trafalgar Square. Following last year’s hugely successful performance of Messiah the same team returns by popular demand, led by Wotton-based conductor Philip Mackenzie with Jed Hughes, organist of St Mary’s, on continuo. Now in its 36th year Amadeus is going from strength to strength with over 300 concerts under its belt as well as six tours of China and two in India.
