About Amadeus Orchestra | Handel - Messiah

St Mary’s church in Wotton-under-Edge is famous for its organ that was once played by George Frederick Handel when it was in its original setting of St Martin in the Fields, on Trafalgar Square. This December will witness a very special performance of Handel’s Messiah given by Wotton-based conductor Philip Mackenzie and the Amadeus Chorus and Orchestra, with Jed Hughes, organist of St Mary’s, on continuo.
Now in its 35th year Amadeus is going from strength to strength with over 300 concerts under its belt as well as six tours of China and two in India.
