About Letters from Lony: A Holocaust Story

Credit: Joseph Wong

Discover the story of Lony Rabl through her letters, beautifully captured in this poignant song cycle. Lony fled the Nazis and wrote a series of letters to her family, especially her newborn grandson Peter. Lony perished in Auschwitz in 1944. Peter never met her and only discovered the letters she had written years later. This moving concert will be introduced by Peter.

It is with profound sadness that the Three Choirs Festival marks the passing of the esteemed composer and conductor Ronald Corp OBE. We were greatly anticipating Ronald's presence at this year's festival in Hereford for the performance of his poignant work Letters from Lony. This performance is dedicated to his memory.
