About Mozart Requiem

Programme
Mozart Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra
Mozart Requiem
One of the most famous choral works of all time, Mozart’s dramatic Requiem is an awe-inspiring work shrouded in mystery. Impassioned and haunting, the piece was composed as Mozart lay on his deathbed, and remained unfinished at his untimely death, being completed by his pupil according to his wishes. Knowing that he was dying, Mozart poured his fear, pain, and grief into his Requiem, and produced unforgettable music of great beauty and power. The Requiem is complemented in this concert by Mozart’s celebrated Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra. This expressive work is at times lively, at times sorrowful, but like the Requiem always utterly beautiful.
