About Opening Service
Join us as we open the Festival in style, filling the Cathedral with joyful and dramatic music. Be wowed by Walton’s spectacular Te Deum, composed for the Coronation of Elizabeth II and sung at the King’s Coronation in 2023, and former Gloucester organ scholar and Acting Director of Music David Bednall’s wonderful Sing Praises to God, sung by the joint forces of the Festival Chorus and Gloucester Cathedral choirs.
The civic procession will enter at 9.45 am
