It has recently been announced that Alexander Robson will be the new Assistant Director of Music at Worcester Cathedral.
Alex joins having previously held scholarships at St. George's Chapel, Windsor, Westminster Cathedral and St John's College in Cambridge.Speaking with Three Choirs Festival, Alexander said,
"I am delighted to be joining the music team at Worcester Cathedral. Worcester has a rich musical heritage, especially through its links with the Three Choirs. I am particularly looking forward to Britten's War Requiem and the new premières at this year's Festival, and I am excited to contribute to one of the most vibrant choral festivals in the country."
At Worcester, Alex’s role will be central to sustaining the musical life of the Cathedral, including playing the organ for the majority of cathedral services, and for directing the Voluntary and Youth choirs.
Sam Hudson, Artistic Director of the Worcester Three Choirs Festival, says,
"It has been wonderful to welcome Alexander to Worcester and to begin working together at the Cathedral. Alex joins us at an exciting time, as we prepare for the Three Choirs Festival in Worcester in the summer of 2027. I am sure that members of the cathedral and festival communities will enjoy getting to know Alex, and am certain that we will all appreciate his musical talents, not least in forthcoming editions of the Three Choirs Festival."
