Here at the Three Choirs Festival, we remember the unfathomable sacrifice of those who gave their lives during world war one and two. Their memory shall never be forgotten.
Our history has two gaps for these periods, where those who organised and performed within the Three Choirs festival forsook their musical tradition to join the war effort.

There were two premieres which reinstated the festival. One in 1920, with Elgar's setting of 'For The Fallen' by Binyon.
