David Francis

David joined Three Choirs Festival Limited as CEO in October 2024. His role oversees all aspects of the organisation’s artistic and operational activities. He works closely with the Artistic Directors to shape the programmes presented at the Three Choirs Festival and he ensures the activities of the organisation align with the strategy he has developed with the Board. A big part of David’s role is advocacy and building/maintaining partnerships and relationships which add value to, and sustain the work of Three Choirs. David is responsible for the team who work year-round to deliver all aspects of the organisation’s activities from programme management and production to learning and participation activities, from marketing to finance and fundraising.

David has led organisations in the UK and Australia. In the UK he has held senior posts with the BBC Symphony Chorus, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, The Performing Right Society (PRS) and PRS Foundation (which he developed and launched), Arts Council England and Dartington. In Australia David was responsible for Sydney Philharmonia Chorus, the Four Winds Festival and Wollongong Conservatorium of Music.

David was a postgraduate student in vocal studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and holds an Executive MBA from Exeter Business School. He sings regularly and enjoys leading choirs. He will commence as MD of Bromyard Choral Society in September 2025.
