Simon Carpenter

Simon started volunteering with the Festival in 2020, having recently completed an MA by research in History where he examined the teaching career of Gloucester organist, Herbert Brewer. An information management graduate, Simon has spent the majority of his career in various information management and information systems roles for a variety of public and commercial organisations. Simon's musical education was as a member of Guildford Cathedral Choir, and his first direct involvement with the Festival was organising a fringe event exhibition on its history when he was a county library placement student in the early 1980s.

Since being with the Festival Simon has had a book published by Logaston Press on its history – Three Choirs Festival in Ten Concerts. I am also a Gloucester Cathedral volunteer, and passionate Hampshire Cricket fan (I was born in the county!).
