Over the last few weeks, Allen Prior has walked 150 miles to raise funds for the Three Choirs Festival and its celebration of RVW150.

The Three Choirs Festival celebrates Black history month by remembering the impact of composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and his impact in the world of composition.

We are celebrating the 150th birthday of famous English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, and we want you to join us – and show the world what your community is about.

The Three Choirs Festival is seeking creative workshop leaders for our ambitious community arts project, “What the Lark Saw”. We are calling on local creatives to lead and work with community groups and schools based in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, and Herefordshire.

Established in 2011 by Jonathan Godfrey, then Principal of Hereford Sixth Form College, the Herefordshire Music Fund is a charity which provides financial support for young people living in Herefordshire or who attend a county school, to receive vocal or instrumental tuition.

The festival has been privileged to enjoy royal patronage for almost two centuries, and our current Patron HRH The Prince of Wales has visited the festival in recent years. Simon Carpenter, the festival’s volunteer archivist, has put together the history of our royal connections.

The winning composer will receive the John Sanders Memorial Prize for Choral Composition of £1000, the possibility of a publishing contract with Encore Publications, and the winning composition will be considered for performance at an Evensong during the 2023 Three Choirs Festival.
