What is the Youth Choir?
Are you a singer aged 14-25 and looking to take part in the Three Choirs Festival? Look no further than our Festival Youth Choir!
Giving young singers in the local community a chance to perform with some of the UK's top orchestras, ensembles and soloists, the Festival Youth Choir is one of the best ways to gain valuable experience in concert.
Previous performances include:
Venables: Requiem with the Philharmonia Orchestra (conducted by Adrian Partington)
The Pilgrim's Progress with the British Youth Opera and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Charlotte Corderoy)
Voices of Power with the Philharmonia Orchestra (conducted by Samuel Hudson)
Duruflé Requiem with the Philharmonia Orchestra (conducted by Geraint Bowen)
What will you sing?
The main concert for this year’s Youth Choir will be a premiere performance of Bob Chilcott’s festival commission Mass in Time of War with the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Samuel Hudson. The performance will take place on Monday 28 July in Hereford Cathedral.
The Youth Choir will also sing evensong in Hereford Cathedral during the festival, with programme and date to be confirmed.
'The performance was a triumph in every respect. Masterfully conducted by Adrian Partington, the Festival Youth Choir gave an outstanding account of the music.'
