Back to Support usLegacies
For many, thinking about our Will is something we push to the bottom of the to-do list. But looking through a different lens, leaving a legacy to the Festival is one of the most powerful tools you have to help shape its future, and one of the most meaningful gestures of support you can make.
The Three Choirs Festival can be traced back three centuries. Its fundamental mission – for the power of choral music to enrich lives through shared, inspirational experiences – has been sustained by the generosity of individuals such as you, who have experienced the transformative power of choral music during your lifetime. Many of you are also committed to ensuring future generations can enjoy and participate in choral music, as you have done.

Every annual Three Choirs Festival witnesses the towering choral legacies left by great composers and inspiring performers who have imprinted our minds and imagination.
Leaving a legacy in your Will ensures that you too can have a lasting impact on the future of choral music and the Festival.
Tax Advantages
If you leave a legacy to a charity in the UK, that legacy is exempt from inheritance tax. If you leave 10% or more of your estate to charity, the Inheritance Tax rate on the balance automatically reduces from 40% to 36%. Therefore there is a tipping point; if your proposed charitable legacies are close to the 10% threshold, your beneficiaries will be better off if the threshold is reached.
You should consult with your legal, estate, and tax advisors to consider such a gift and assess its impact on your own planning. We understand these are important decisions, ones that you must make in your own time and with your family and solicitor.
Thank you for considering leaving a legacy gift for the future of the Three Choirs Festival. If you would like our help, please contact Debbie Jagla and she will be very happy to talk you through what is a very straightforward process.
